J.TIMBO HAS VANCITY LOVESTONED!
September 8th, 2007Juiced up by: M-Cubed

June. 11th, 2003 would have marked the debut of the infamous Justin Timberlake on Vancouver soil, however that day will be remembered by JT fans as a day of disappointment. Let’s skip forward to September 5th, 2007 and the REAL debut of J.Timbo on Vancouver soil.
Fans have waited in agony 4 long years before they got another chance to see this singing and dancing machine and boy did he put on a show. The “FutureSex/LoveShow” was not just a regular ol’ music concert, it was an entertainment explosion. The show had everything from amazing light shows, energetic dance teams, a massive band, and of course the music artists. Here’s a sneak peek at the debut of Mr.Timberlake in Vancity, British Columbia.
Let’s Get It Started
After another long agonizing wait, and several chants of “JUSTIN, JUSTIN, JUSTIN, JUSTIN!” The lights would finally go dim and the capacity crowd of over 19,000 people let out screams of joy. Four massive curtains that surrounded the stage started to lower and chants of “Future”, “Sex”, “Love”, “Sounds” reverberated through the speakers. A silhouette appeared in the middle as the chants continued and after a couple minutes, Justin Timberlake would appear out of the silhouette to perform his first number, FutureSex/Lovesounds.
From the very beginning the crowd was on its feet screaming and roaring and JT’s performance would just feed off the electric crowd. The first couple songs would all be upbeat jamz to get the crowd into it. His setlist was well mixed with songs from his old album “Justified” and his new album “Futuresex/Lovesounds”. Justin himself was enough to make the sold-out crowd, made up mostly of females, glued to the stage, but throughout the night, Justin would go on to show off his entire arsenal of talent. We all know he can sing, but he would go on to play a number of different instruments, especially excelling at the piano.
Concert Experience
What made this concert so unique was definitely the stage. Set in the middle of the arena it spanned 4 four ways so he was able to move around and face everyone in the crowd. Each side would have a sheer curtain that would come down and show video footage of an up close Justin Timberlake when he was performing the center of the stage. To top it all off, two of the ends would be accompanied by bars, so that the floor seats would be able to wet their whistle without missing a single second of the performance.
One thing I could not get over was how loud it was in the arena. It’s incomparable to anything I’ve ever experienced and for those who have never been to a music concert; it’s a one-of-a-kind experience that I encourage all of you to try at least once in your life. JT worked the crowd well mixing in some chatter in between songs. At one point, he even called in his crew to make a toast to his first concert in Vancity and they all proceeded to take a shot of tequila or “te-kill-ya” as JT called it.
The Finale
As the concert was winding down and JT finished his last song “Sexyback” the crowd was still as energetic as ever and continued to hang on his every word. He saluted the crowd as he made his exit off the stage, but just as it seemed the show had ended
and there would be no more Futuresex /Lovesounds, a piano would emerge from the middle of the stage. A couple minutes later, the talented Mr. Timberlake would once again appear for an encore that would steal the hearts of all the fans. As he performed a flawless rendition of his song “(Another Song) All Over Again” tears streamed down the faces of the female crowd. He would then go to each corner of the stage and spread peace and love to everyone in the crowd before finally ending the show.
